Responsibilities

Overview:

As a janitor, you will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and the overall maintenance of the assigned facility. You will perform various cleaning and maintenance duties to create a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for occupants, visitors, and employees.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning Tasks:
    • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
    • Dusting furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
    • Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste properly
    • Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors.
    • Refilling soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
    • Cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
    • Polishing furniture and metal fixtures
  2. Maintenance and Repair:
    • Reporting any damages, repairs, or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor
    • Basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs.
    • Performing routine inspections to identify areas that require maintenance or repairs.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
    • Properly handling and storing cleaning products and equipment
  4. Organization and Stock Management:
    • Keeping cleaning supplies and equipment well-maintained, organized, and stocked.
    • Maintaining inventory records of cleaning supplies and requesting replenishment as needed
    • Managing supply storage areas in a neat and orderly manner
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Cooperating and collaborating with other janitorial staff or team members
    • Communicating effectively with supervisors or facility managers regarding tasks and requirements

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a janitor, cleaner, or similar role may be preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment usage
  • Ability to handle basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Physical stamina and capability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving heavy objects.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in carrying out cleaning tasks.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and on weekends, if required

Benefits:

Pay and Benefits:

$20 to $25, depending on education and experience
